Chevrolet has introduced a new Corvette special edition for Japan, and it’s the sort of low-volume release that will stay firmly on collectors’ radar.
Called the Corvette V8 Touring, it pairs a distinctive Red Mist Metallic finish with a small run of just 15 cars for the Japanese domestic market.
It doesn’t reinvent the Corvette formula, but it sharpens the presentation with a curated colour scheme, upgraded visual details and GT2 bucket seats as standard.

At a glance
- Chevrolet has introduced the Japan-exclusive Corvette V8 Touring, limited to 15 units.
- The special edition features Red Mist Metallic paint, Sterling Silver racing stripes, GT2 bucket seats and forged nickel-finish wheels.
- Pricing is set at 21.5 million yen, which is about 1.9 million yen above the standard Corvette convertible.
Red Mist paint and a warmer cabin
The Corvette V8 Touring’s defining visual cue is its Red Mist Metallic exterior, set off by Sterling Silver racing stripes.
It’s a classic Corvette combination in spirit, but the restrained silver striping keeps the car from feeling overworked.
Inside, Chevrolet has specified Natural Tan upholstery with a black steering wheel.

That contrast gives the cabin a warmer, more touring-focused character than a darker, track-leaning specification might suggest.
Extra aero details and GT2 seats
The Japan-market edition also receives a front splitter and a low-profile rear spoiler, adding more visual intent without changing the car’s basic shape.
A red engine cover continues the exterior theme, while forged wheels in a nickel finish are paired with black brake calipers.

GT2 bucket seats are fitted as standard, which gives the V8 Touring a more purposeful cabin package than its name might initially imply.
A familiar V8 at the centre
Power comes from Chevrolet’s 6.2-litre V8, rated at 495 hp at 6,450 rpm and 470 lb-ft of torque at 5,150 rpm.
The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Those figures place the V8 Touring firmly in familiar Corvette territory, with the special edition’s appeal coming from specification, market exclusivity and its limited build rather than a new mechanical direction.
