Aman is heading to South Korea with Aman Seoul, a new address planned for Cheongdam-dong in the Gangnam district.
The project marks the brand’s first hotel in the country and places it in one of Seoul’s most visible luxury and cultural corridors.
Rather than arriving as a standalone hotel, Aman Seoul is being conceived as a broader lifestyle development with residences, a private members’ club, wellness facilities, dining, retail and cultural spaces.

At a glance
- Aman Seoul will be the brand’s first hotel in South Korea, planned for Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam.
- The development is set to include a hotel, 49 Aman-branded residences, an Aman Club, wellness areas, restaurants, retail and cultural spaces.
- The project follows a strategic partnership between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, announced with an initial investment of approximately $500 million.
Cheongdam gives Aman a powerful Seoul address
Aman Seoul is planned for the former Hotel Prima site at 52-3 and 52-7 Cheongdam-dong.
The development is expected to rise 38 floors above ground, with eight basement levels, giving the property views toward the Han River and the Seoul skyline.
Cheongdam is a logical landing point for Aman in Korea.

The neighborhood sits within Gangnam and is closely associated with fashion houses, luxury retail, galleries, restaurants and contemporary Korean lifestyle brands.
Alongside nearby Apgujeong, it has become one of Seoul’s key districts for high-end shopping, dining and entertainment.
For international travelers, that puts Aman Seoul close to the commercial and cultural energy of the city without moving the brand away from its familiar language of privacy and calm.
A hotel, residences and Aman Club in one vertical retreat
The project will combine a hotel with 49 Aman-branded private residences, extending the brand’s hospitality model into long-term ownership.
The residences are planned as private homes shaped by Aman’s design, space planning and service standards.
For owners, the appeal is likely to be the balance between a private address and access to the services and amenities normally associated with an Aman stay.
Aman Seoul will also introduce an Aman Club to the city.
The private members’ club is expected to include social and wellness spaces, including a swimming pool, fitness facilities and lounges.
That format reflects Aman’s increasingly residential approach in major cities, where the hotel becomes only one part of a more permanent community.
Korean spatial ideas meet Aman restraint
Aman has said the design will draw from Korean spatial aesthetics while keeping to the brand’s understated approach to contemporary luxury.
That suggests a project focused less on obvious decoration and more on proportion, materiality, light and the relationship between interior spaces and nature.
It is a promising fit for Seoul, where contemporary architecture often looks back to traditional Korean ideas of courtyards, framed views and a careful transition between built space and landscape.
The challenge will be translating that sense of intimacy into a high-rise urban setting.
Aman’s strongest properties tend to avoid the mood of a conventional large hotel, creating pockets of quiet even within substantial developments.
In Cheongdam, the city will remain part of the experience, but the aim is to make it feel observed from a place of stillness rather than escaped from entirely.
Wellness will anchor the Gangnam project
Wellness is expected to be a major component of Aman Seoul.
The development is planned with extensive spa and wellbeing facilities for hotel guests, residents and Aman Club members.
That emphasis is central to Aman’s identity, particularly as the brand expands from remote resorts into dense urban destinations.
In Seoul, the proposition is clear enough: a highly serviced retreat in the middle of one of Asia’s fastest-moving capitals.
The project also gives clearer shape to the partnership between Shinsegae Group and OKO Group, which was announced earlier in 2026 with an initial investment of approximately $500 million.
That collaboration was designed to develop luxury hotels, branded residences and mixed-use projects for Aman in Korea and abroad, bringing together Shinsegae’s experience in large-scale integrated developments and OKO Group’s work with Aman properties.
For Aman loyalists, Aman Seoul adds a significant new urban destination in Asia.
For Seoul, it signals another step in the city’s evolution as a global luxury capital, one where hospitality, private living, wellness and culture are increasingly expected to occupy the same address.
