Hermès has introduced a Mini version of the Cape Cod, reducing one of the maison’s most recognizable watch designs to a compact 27 x 20mm case without losing the graphic character that made it distinctive.
A smaller Cape Cod with the same architectural signature
First created in 1991 by Henri d’Origny, the Cape Cod is defined by its “round in a square” geometry, a shape that still feels unusually crisp more than three decades later.
The new Mini sits below the existing PM, GM and TGM sizes, giving the collection a more jewelry-like proportion while keeping enough presence for the case shape to read clearly on the wrist.
Steel, yellow gold and a diamond-set option
The 27 x 20mm case is offered in polished steel or yellow gold, with certain versions framed by 46 diamonds that trace the Cape Cod’s squared profile.
That choice gives the model two distinct moods: a clean everyday Hermès watch in metal, or a more decorative piece that leans closer to fine jewelry without abandoning the collection’s design language.
Sunray dials and wraparound Hermès leather
The dial options include silver or gold sunray finishes with four Arabic numerals, while the gem-set models use four small rhodium-plated pearl markers for a quieter effect.
Hermès also adds more expressive no-marker dials in straw, slate and red H, paired with single- or double-wrap straps in Athena calfskin or Chamkilight goatskin.
A quartz movement for a highly wearable Mini
The watch is powered by a quartz movement displaying hours and minutes with two central hands, a practical choice for a small-format piece designed to be worn easily and often.
This Mini Cape Cod should appeal to collectors who like Hermès for its design discipline as much as its leatherwork, and to anyone looking for a compact watch with more personality than a conventional dress piece.
